HARTFORD, Conn. – Trevor Powers scattered 12 hits over 8 2/3 innings with three strikeouts and two walks Friday as Bowdoin College beat Williams 6-3 in NESCAC Tournament first-round baseball action at Wesleyan University.

The Polar Bears play Amherst in a 10:30 a.m. winners’ bracket game today.

Nick Lawler had a two-run double in Bowdoin’s four-run second inning. Manny Lora had an RBI single.

Williams stranded 13 baserunners.
