Charles Beck of Presque Isle has been appointed to serve on the board of the Maine Outdoor Heritage Fund, after a nomination by Gov. John Baldacci.

Beck will join six other board members, awarding grants twice a year to fish and wildlife projects, endangered species, outdoor recreation and conservation. Beck is the manager of Graves Shop ‘n Save in Presque Isle. He served 20 years in the U.S. Air Force.

The Outdoor Heritage Fund is supported by proceeds from the “Outdoor Heritage” instant lottery ticket.
