STACYVILLE – James Zabierek singled home the winning run with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning as Katahdin edged Washburn 7-6 in high school baseball action Monday afternoon.

Owen McCarthy had tied the game with an RBI single in the seventh.

Zabierek finished with a double, two singles, and four RBIs. Cameron Cunningham struck out 10 for Katahdin.

Isaac Carney had two doubles, a single, and three RBIs for Washburn, and also struck out 12 batters.
