Holmes double leads Pats past Lee

LEE – Heather Holmes doubled home two runs in the fourth inning and Bangor Christian went on to pull out a 4-2 high school softball victory over Lee on Monday afternoon.

Amber Leathers added two singles for the Patriots.

Shelby Pickering hit a home run and single for the Pandas.

Bucksport 12, John Bapst 2

At Husson College in Bangor, Bucksport broke open a scoreless game with six runs in the fifth inning and six more in the sixth.

Jill Richards led the Golden Bucks with two singles, a double, and an RBI, while Terren Hall had two singles and two RBIs.

Kim Meagher had a double, single, and RBI for John Bapst of Bangor.

At Hampden, Nellie Wood scored the game-winning run on a Jenna Shue single.

Erica Veinote doubled and singled to knock in three runs for Hampden and she also struck out 11 and walked three to earn the win. Shue and Myra Shannon each had two singles and an RBI.

Joyce Holland hit a double and two singles for Nokomis of Newport. Amy Paradis doubled and singled and Tatum Welch hit two singles to drive in a run.

Penquis 11, PVHS 10 (8 inn.)

At Howland, Dani Graves gave up five hits and four walks while striking out 14 to help lead Penquis of Milo past Penobscot Valley.

Kylie Palmer doubled, tripled, and scored three runs for Penquis, and Michelle Mulherin hit two doubles. Erika Morrill had a double and a single, and Ashlei McMahon and Ashley Pelletier each doubled.

Nancy Hallett hit a triple for Penobscot Valley, and Kelsy Lavertu added a double.

At Dover-Foxcroft, Shannon Wiggin hit two singles and drove in two runs to lead Hermon to the win.

Cassie White had two singles with an RBI for the Hawks, and Marissa McLeod added a pair of singles.

Angel Cumberland hit a triple and three singles to drive in four runs for Foxcroft Academy, and Lindsay Chase tripled and singled with two RBIs.

At Corinth, Shawna Bell singled twice and knocked in four runs to lead the Red Devils past the Pirates of Guilford.

Traci Underhill contributed a double and two singles, Jen Rollins added three singles, and Renee Trafton had a double, single, and three RBIs.

Heather Woodbury topped PCHS with a triple and a single.

At Lincoln, Amanda DiCenso singled home the winning run to highlight a three-run sixth-inning rally by the Lynx.

Shannon Pietras added a two-run double and Jaide Littlefield had an RBI triple for Mattanawcook.

Cristy McGowen and Cindy Koscielny each doubled for Dexter.

Pitchers Kasse Brown of Mattanawcook and Sarah Carnes of Dexter each allowed just four hits.

At Old Town, Liz Bergeron pitched a five-inning three-hitter to lead Old Town. She struck out six and walked one.

Jen Higgins paced Old Town with a double, two singles and three RBIs. Jamie Gomm added a two-run double.

Rachael Joyce tripled and singled for Orono.

At Millinocket, Patty Lymburner’s two-run single in the second snapped a 3-3 tie and propelled the Eagles of Blue Hill to the victory.

Lymburner recorded three singles and two RBIs, and Liz Tyler, Lindsay Smith, and Chelsea Duddy contributed two singles apiece.

Casey Freeman led the Minutemen with a two-run single, and Holly Franck doubled.

At Calais, Danielle O’Brien hit three singles to push Calais.

Ashley Allen rapped a pair of singles for Calais, and Emily Wilkinson knocked in two runs with a single.

Missy Barbee hit two singles for Narraguagus of Harrington, and Alicia Tenney added a triple.

Sarah Beal led Jonesport-Beals with three singles and a double, while Kristi Smith tripled.

Darci Fortier hit an RBI single for Ellsworth, and Victoria Jones tripled.

At Rockland, Miranda Kelly allowed just three hits and one walk while striking out nine to pitch Camden Hills to the win.

Carrie Kapuscinski hit three singles to drive in a run for the Windjammers of Rockport. Jodi Newcombe had a single and four RBIs and Caitlin Brown hit two singles.

Stacia Matthews, Lindsay Barnes, and Kasey Felt each singled for Rockland.
