OXFORD – Kurt Busch has become the second NASCAR Nextel Cup driver to enter this year’s Banknorth 250 at Oxford Plains Speedway.

Matt Kenseth, a teammate of Busch and the defending Cup champion, previously announced that he would race in the July 18 event.

The Banknorth 250 is one of the richest one-day short track races in the country with a guaranteed winner’s purse of $25,000 plus $100 for each lap led.

Busch was runner-up for Cup rookie of the year in 2001, and he has posted nine victories since then. Busch is currently fifth in the Nextel Cup points standings.

Oxford Plains Speedway is a 3/8-mile paved oval with seating for more than 13,000.
