Outlook: No. 4 Maine again will be the visiting team as the Bears take on No. 2 Stony Brook in the second day of the conference tournament. Maine is coming off Thursday’s 1-0 triumph over No. 1 Albany; the Seawolves beat No. 3 BU 6-2. Maine will look to get its bats going after managing just five hits against the Great Danes. Stony Brook’s pitching – a team ERA of 4.21 – could present a good opportunity for the Black Bear offense. Merchant will be a relatively new face for the Seawolves because she only pitched two-thirds of an inning during the regular-season series in which Maine went 1-2. Maine also will have Sarah Bennis (1.73 ERA, 99 strikeouts) available.
