Burditt double paces Sumner past ‘Guagus

EAST SULLIVAN – Jeff Burditt hit a run-scoring double with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning Friday to give the Sumner Tigers a 3-2 high school baseball victory over Narraguagus of Harrington.

Burditt also singled for Sumner, while A.J. Pennartz doubled and Trevor Renwick added an RBI single behind winner Kyle Joy, who fanned six.

Saben Rossi, Gabe Checker and Owen Fickett singled for the Knights.

At Jonesport, Abraham Beal singled three times and drove in two runs for the Royals.

Eric Hannington doubled and singled for the Vikings of Danforth. Nick Preston singled twice.

At Bangor, Josh Eaton and Bryant Ciomei each singled twice and drove in a run in the Mariners’ tight win.

Justin Phinney, Micah Dougherty and Tory Dearborn singled consecutively in the first to account for the Patriots’ two runs.

At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor, Cody Bulmer and Matt Altvater stroked three singles each while three Tiger pitchers combined on a one-hitter.

Derek Maloney’s two-run triple in the fifth invoked the 10-run rule and he also singled. Aaron Sullivan knocked in three runs with a two-run double and a sacrifice fly for Shead of Eastport.

Mark McLellan rapped an RBI single for Woodland.

At Thorndike, the Mustangs took advantage of two errors during the same play in the bottom of the seventh to score three runs and rally for the win.

Justin Johndro hit a two-run single in the fourth and added an RBI single in the fifth for Mount View. Willie Crichton singled twice.

Jamie Potvin hit two singles and a double with an RBI for Belfast. Nick Arthers hit a solo home run and Paul Herman singled twice.

At Millinocket, Matt Wark doubled, singled and drove in a run to lead the Minutemen.

Adam Qualey added two singles for the winners while Craig Cullen had an RBI single and Derek DiFrederico doubled.

Matt Julian singled twice and drove in a run for the Red Devils of Corinth.

At Dexter, the Tigers rallied for four runs in the sixth and three in the seventh to pull out the victory.

Brian Kelso stroked a two-run single to highlight the seventh-inning rally, which ended when Sam Bowers struck out but reached on a passed ball, allowing Kelso to score.

Brandon Woodman hit a three-run triple and a single for Dexter and Kyle Stone doubled.

Tyler Thompson doubled and singled with two RBIs to lead Lee Academy. Kris King singled twice with two RBIs and Gerry Worster hit a solo homer.

At Jonesport, Kristi Smith smacked a grand slam and a triple and racked up eight RBIs to power the Royalettes.

Jennie Durkee had four RBIs on three singles and a double for Jonesport-Beals. Tina Beal doubled, singled and added two RBIs while Sarah Beal hit three singles and drove in a run.

Allie McKay and Mariah Marks each hit two singles and had an RBI for the Vikings of Danforth. Sarah Rodier hit three singles and Paula Osnoe added a double and a single

At Eastport, Britney Lingley pitched a four-hitter, striking out six, and knocked in three runs with a home run, a double and a single to power the Tigerettes to victory.

Kelsey Snowman singled twice with an RBI to lead Woodland.

At Rockland, Cassie Berry led off the eighth inning with a double, moved up on a sacrifice bunt and scored when Nicole Russell’s fly ball to right field resulted in a collision between two outfielders as the Eagles edged the Tigers.

Berry doubled and singled to back Russell, who scattered four hits and struck out three.

Dianne Grade laid down two bunt singles for Rockland.

At East Sullivan, Jody Pinkham drove in four runs with a home run and two singles to pace the Tigers.

Whitney Page poked a triple and two singles (1 RBI), while Hollie Stanwood singled three times (1 RBI). Jenay Tucker tripled and singled, and Kylie Bragdon singled twice to back winner Jessie Daley, who struck out seven.

Missy Barbee led Narraguagus of Harrington with an RBI single.

At Searsport, Christy Moon tripled, doubled and singled three times with three RBIs to power the Eagles to victory over the Vikings.

Rachel Wardwell hit a triple and three singles while Hilary Thibodeau posted four singles and two RBIs.

Sheila Wilber posted four singles and four RBIs to pace Searsport. Theresa Cameron singled three times and drove in two runs.

Penquis sweeps Piscataquis

At Guilford, Dani Graves combined to allow only two runs and six hits as Penquis of Milo swept a doubleheader from Piscataquis, 11-1 and 12-1.

In the first game, Graves scattered four hits and struck out eight for the Patriots. Kylie Palmer and Ashley Pelletier posted three singles each.

Natasha Braley singled and scored a run for the Pirates.

In the nightcap, Graves fired a two-hitter with 13 strikeouts and no walks. Erika Morrill tripled and singled with three RBIs, Mindy Dolley knocked in two runs with a double and a single, Megan Knowles singled twice with an RBI and Ashlei McMahan added a run-scoring double.

Kristy Levesque and Abbie Galuski singled for Piscataquis.
