MADAWASKA – Billy Roy and Gilbert Cyr stroked RBI doubles while Pete Gerard and Eric Gendreau hit run-scoring singles Monday during a four-run third inning that carried Madawaska to a 6-3 high school baseball victory over Washburn.
Gerard also pitched a three-hitter with 12 strikeouts and four walks for Madawaska.
Isaac Carney and Lucas Hafford had RBI doubles for the Beavers.

Shead sweeps East Grand
At Eastport, Anthony Lewey gave up just five hits and one walk while fanning eight to earn the shutout win 12-0 win in the first game for Shead. The Tigers also took the second game 15-1.
In the first game, Craig Hastings hit two triples with an RBI for Shead. Matt Altvater hit a two-run double and Dereky Maloney doubled and singled.
Micah Barnes singled and stole a base for East Grand of Danforth.
In the second game, Aaron Sullivan had three singles with three RBIs for Shead and Altvater singled twice.
Adam Beudoin doubled and scored a run for East Grand.
