BANGOR – Julia Sleeper singled to bring in the game-winning run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh and give the John Bapst Crusaders a 5-4 softball victory over Hermon Wednesday.

Meaghan Brown and Heather Laferriere each singled twice to bring in on run for the Crusaders.

Cassie White singled three times, doubled and drove in two runs for the Hawks. Marissa McLeod had two more singles.

At Rockland, Beth Lafountain pitched a one-hitter, striking out 11 and walking one, as the Black Raiders won.

At Blue Hill, Nicole Smith pitched a four-hitter while striking out nine and walking none to lead Bucksport past George Stevens Academy.

Terren Hall had a two-run homer in the first and an RBI single. Smith hit a two-run single and Kristi Allen doubled.

Patty Lymburner had an RBI single for the Eagles.

At Lee, consecutive run-scoring singles by Shelby Pickering, Kristin Hersom, Marci Moors and Samantha Cole and Lisa Bouchard’s RBI double keyed a six-run third inning that broke the game open.

Winning pitcher Moors had three singles and two RBIs and Pickering had a triple to go with her single and she drove in three runs. Hersom and Kerri Harris each doubled and singled and Cole singled twice.

Cole had two RBIs.

Lindsay Albert’s two doubles and RBI and Chelsie Bates’ two singles led Katahdin.

Steph Whittier’s one-out single in the fifth was Belfast’s only hit.

John Bapst had tied the game with a three-run rally in the bottom of the seventh, as Brian Roach, Alex Means and George Keefe each had an RBI single.

Phil Cayford earned the pitching win, striking out nine batters and walking one.

Brian McGinley hit three singles for Hermon, while Cayford added a double and a single.

Keefe and Chris Leavitt each had three singles for John Bapst, while Roach singled twice.

Josh Ireland singled and scored the winning run in the fifth when Thompson doubled and an error was made which allowed Ireland to score.

Matt Cummings had a run-scoring single for the winners while George Surrette had a run-scoring double for Stearns.
