FORT FAIRFIELD – Brandon Davenport scored the game-winning run in the seventh on a single by Billy Scull to give the Fort Fairfield Tigers a 4-3 baseball win over Van Buren Wednesday.

Tyler Bernaiche singled twice for the Tigers.

For the Crusaders, Trevor Hews had four singles and Matt Gagnon had two.

At Fort Kent, Zach Austin, Adam Anderson, Evan Boutilier and Evan McGary all had solo home runs for Southern Aroostook.

Tylor Marquis had an RBI double in the seventh for the Fort Kent Warriors.

At Madawaska, senior Pete Gerard hit for the cycle and drove home four runs to lead the Owls to victory.

Gerard hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the first inning and followed with a triple, double and single.

Gil Cyr added two singles and a triple for Madawaska, while Andre Roy hit three singles.

Senior righthander Eric Gendreau pitched a two-hitter in the five-inning game, recording all 15 outs by strikeout.

John Fontaine and James Frank each singled for Limestone/Maine School of Science and Mathematics.

Washburn sweeps C. Aroostook

At Mars Hill, Jason Thompson had five hits and five RBIs as Washburn swept a doubleheader from Central Aroostook, 12-2 and 10-2.

In the first game, Thompson tripled and singled with three RBIs, while Isaac Carney and Lucas Hafford had three singles each and Sam Harris singled twice.

Jeff Clockedile had two singles and two RBIs for Central Aroostook.

In the second game, Thompson had a triple, two singles and two RBIs. Hafford had three more singles, while Carney had two singles and Seth Milton hit a double and pitched a five-hitter.

Bryan Grew singled twice with an RBI for Central Aroostook, while Eric Grivois hit an RBI double and Erick Martinez also doubled.

Crystal Silva doubled and singled with two RBIs for the Eagles, while Nikki Michaud singled twice with two RBIs.

Michaud also pitched a two-hitter in the five-inning game.

Beth Gerard doubled to lead Madawaska.

At Mars Hill, Angel Rideout’s two-run triple sparked a seven-run second inning that led Central Aroostook of Mars Hill to its second-game win and sweep of their doubleheader.

Rideout also had a single while Brittany Lundeen contributed a double and two singles and an RBI, Sami Brewer had two singles and two RBIs and Destin Larrabee had a double and two RBIs.

Amber Palmer had three singles and two RBIs and Stephanie Burtt had an RBI single.

In the opener, Larrabee, Stevi Fletcher and Andi Long had three singles each with Larrabee knocking in two runs and Fletcher delivering one.

Brewer had two singles.

Palmer doubled and singled and knocked in three runs for Washburn.

Ashland sweeps Wisdom

At Ashland, Ashley Nemer and Pam Spooner allowed a combined four hits in Wednesday’s doubleheader to lead the host Hornets to the sweep over Wisdom of St. Agatha with 14-2 and 17-3 victories.

In the first game, Spooner pitched a three-hitter, struck out nine and walked four. Amber Smith hit a two-run homer in the first and singed for four RBIs. Cora Campbell had two doubles and a single. Lindsey Long doubled and singled.

Singles by Crista Lizotte, Kayle Daigle and Tracy Anderson were the only Wisdom hits.

In the second game, Nemer allowed one hit while striking out six and walking three. Smith had a double, triple and two RBIs while Spooner had a double and two singles. Angela Belskis singled twice.

Kayla Daigle’s RBI single in the first was Wisdom’s lone hit.

At Lee, consecutive run-scoring singles by Shelby Pickering, Kristin Hersom, Marci Moors and Samantha Cole and Lisa Bouchard’s RBI double keyed a six-run third inning that broke the game open.

Winning pitcher Moors had three singles and two RBIs and Pickering had a triple to go with her single and she drove in three runs. Hersom and Kerri Harris each doubled and singled and Cole singled twice.

Cole had two RBIs.

Lindsay Albert’s two doubles and RBI and Chelsie Bates’ two singles led Katahdin.

Danielle Dyer had a single for the Wildcat’s lone hit.
