John Bapst Memorial High School Head of School Landis Green has announced the honor parts for the Class of 2004.
Eli M. Levenson-Falk, son of Laura Levenson and Jonathan Falk of Carmel, has been named valedictorian for the Class of 2004. He will attend Harvard College in the fall to study physics.
He is a National Merit Scholar, member of the National Honor Society and recipient of the Maine Scholars Achievement Award. He has earned high honors every quarter throughout high school and received numerous John Bapst Memorial High school academic awards for outstanding achievement.
A three-season athlete, Levenson-Falk has lettered in soccer, skiing and track, serving as captain of the track team this spring. He participated in the fall play, concert choir, chorale, concert band and the spring musical. He has worked on the school newspaper for three years and competed on the math team. He has volunteered with Maine Special Olympics and Youth Adelantando, in addition to working as a ski instructor and a field organizer for a citizens action group.
Meghan S. Simonds, daughter of Pamela Simonds of Hampden and James Simonds of Hudson, has been named salutatorian for the Class of 2004. She will attend the University of Maine to study political science.
She is a member of the National Honor Society, recipient of the Maine Scholars Achievement Award, and an award winner of the Business Education Association of Maine contest. She has earned honor roll status every quarter throughout high school and received numerous John Bapst Memorial High School academic awards for outstanding achievement. She attended the National Young Leader’s Conference in Washington, D.C. Simonds has been active in student government, serving as senator and treasurer-budget chair, and was a co-organizer and speaker for the John Bapst Freshman Orientation Program.
She has volunteered her time and skills in the community through key club and participated in the international club and photograph club.
