BREWER – Three members of Troop 1 in Brewer were awarded their Eagle Scout badge at an Eagle Scout Court of Honor held at Jeff’s Catering on May 16. Receiving their badges in front of family and friends were Eric M. Young, David C. Haluska and Paul J. Morrow Jr., all of Brewer.

Young, 18, has earned 23 merit badges and been inducted into Boy Scouting’s National Honor Society, Order of the Arrow. His community service project was building a handicapped accessible ramp at the Brewer Historical Society Museum. The son of Dick and Peggy Young of Brewer, he is a senior at Brewer High School and plans to attend the University of Maine in the fall.

Haluska, 18, has earned 23 merit badges and served his troop in a variety of leadership positions. His community service project was creating a memorial garden at the Hammond Street Congregational Church in Bangor. A senior at Brewer High, he is the son of Tina M. Haluska of Brewer, David Grant of Old Town, and Michael and Janet Haluska of Oviedo, Fla. He plans to attend the University of Maine this fall.

Morrow, 18, has earned 23 merit badges and been inducted into Boy Scouting’s National Honor Society, Order of the Arrow. His community service project was refurbishing the entrance garden and church sign at the First Congregational Church of Brewer. A senior at Brewer High, he is the son of Paul and Cheryl Morrow of Brewer. He plans to attend the University of Connecticut in the fall.
