DeRosa helps Bangor take two from John Bapst

BANGOR – Anthony DeRosa pitched a perfect game over six innings as the Bangor Rams earned a 7-0 win over John Bapst in the second game of a high school baseball doubleheader Saturday at Mansfield Stadium.

Bangor edged Bapst in the first game 5-4.

In the second game, DeRosa struck out six before rain shortened the game. He also tripled and singled. Nate Hall hit a two-run single in the sixth.

In the first game, P.J. Dowe hit an RBI double in the fifth inning to help the Rams rally. He also singled. Nick Larochelle singled twice and Jordan Heath hit a double and a single.

Chris Leavitt hit a two-run single for John Bapst and Alex Means singled twice.

Madawaska 5, Fort Kent 3

At Fort Kent, senior catcher Eric Gendreau’s first career homer broke a 3-3 tie in the top of the eighth and supplied Madawaska with its win.

Singles by Dustin Butler and Ken Sirois, a walk and a passed ball produced an insurance run later in the eighth.

Peter Gerard pitched a 16-strikeout six-hitter for the win.

Gendreau had a single to go with his homer, Billy Roy doubled and singled and had an RBI, Butler, Siriois and Andre Roy had two singles each and Gil Cyr hit a two-run single.

Adam Jandreau’s double and single and Gib Michaud’s double led Fort Kent.

Penobscot Valley wins two

At Guilford, Saturday, Jamie Milton pitched 10 innings, striking out 11 and allowing only two hits in two games. The Howlers of Howland won the opening game 15-0 and the second 16-0.

In the first game, Nancy Hallett singled three times and Ashley Dawsen doubled for Penobscot Valley.

Abby Galuski and Jessica Pratt singled for the Pirates.

In the second game, Milton added a triple and a single. Casey Foster and Jennifer Plourde each doubled for the Howlers.
