Gendreau homer paces Owls

FORT KENT – Senior catcher Eric Gendreau’s first career homer broke a 3-3 tie in the top of the eighth and supplied Madawaska with a 5-3 win over Fort Kent in a schoolboy baseball game Monday.

Singles by Dustin Butler and Ken Sirois, a walk and a passed ball produced an insurance run later in the eighth.

Peter Gerard pitched a 16-strikeout six-hitter for the win.

Gendreau had a single to go with his homer for the Owls, Billy Roy doubled and singled and had an RBI, Butler, Siriois and Andre Roy had two singles each and Gil Cyr hit a two-run single.

Adam Jandreau’s double and single and Gib Michaud’s double led Fort Kent.

Washburn 31, Limestone 2

At Limestone, Seth Milton tripled twice and slammed a home run for the Beavers.

Lucas Hafford added four singles; Zach Bird had a double and two singles and Jason Thompson homered for the winners.

At Fort Fairfield, Tyler Bernaiche and Brandon Levasseur each singled twice as the Tigers topped Wisdom of St. Agatha.

Bernaiche had an RBI.

Justin Michaud singled and doubled for Wisdom.

Van Buren 20, Wisdom 3

At Van Buren, Trevor Hews drove in four runs with a two-run homer, triple and two singles and Jeremy Chasse collected four singles and two RBIs as Van Buren triumphed.

Hews’ two-run single and Dustin Cyr’s RBI double keyed a five-run third inning that broke the game open.

Lance Smith doubled and singled and Matt Gagnon singled twice and each chased home a run for the winners.

Randy Thibeault’s two singles and Brandon Cyr’s RBI double paced Wisdom of St. Agatha.

At Van Buren, Casie Caron walloped two solo home runs as the Crusaders rolled over Wisdom of St. Agatha.

Amy Vaillancourt added a home run and a single for Van Buren. Lisa Levasseur had a double and a single and drove in two runs.

Michelle Bourgoin homered and doubled Wisdom and Kayla Daigle added an RBI triple.

Limestone 15, Washburn 2

At Limestone, Lindsey Beaulieu belted a two-run homer and a two-run double in a 10-run fourth-inning rally as Limestone beat Washburn.

Emily O’Neal, Crystal Silva and Megan Pelletier had two singles each in the fourth with O’Neal driving in a pair and Pelletier chasing home one.

Silva and O’Neal finished with three singles apiece. Vicki Mulherin doubled and singled and drove in two runs and Julie Peers singled twice.

Nikki Michaud notched the win with a four-hitter, striking out eight and walking one.

Amber Palmer had an RBI double for Washburn.

At Fort Fairfield, Allie Arato tripled and singled, driving in three runs for the Tigers.

Kaylee Searles singled twice and winning pitcher Brittney Strout struck out seven, while allowing just two hits.

Christa Lizotte tripled for the Pioneers.

At Fort Kent, Leah Babin hit a two -run homer in the third inning and a solo shot in the fifth to help pace Madawaska’s 20-hit attack.

Melissa Morneault had three singles while Trisha Desjardins and Melissa Michaud had two apiece for the Owls.

Beth Gerard had three singles and a double, Erin Pelletier two singles and a double, and Andrea Cyr three singles to lead the Warriors.
