STACYVILLE – Patrick Willett’s double scored Cameron Cunningham, who had singled and stolen second, with the eventual winning run in the bottom of the fifth inning Tuesday as Kathadin eked out a 3-2 high school baseball victory over Ashland.
Jordan Qualey chipped in with two singles for the Cougars.
Chris Long (RBI) and Daren Hunter each singled twice for the Hornets.

At Mars Hill, Bryan Grew allowed only three runs on four hits and three walks while fanning eight to lead Central Aroostook past Hodgdon.
Grew hit a double and knocked in two runs for Central Aroostook and Eric Grivois had two singles with two RBIs.
Jimmy Griffin hit two singles for Hodgdon and Bruce Currie had an RBI single.

At Mars Hill, Amanda Fitzpatrick hit three singles to knock in three runs and help push Hodgdon past Central Aroostook.
Erin Foster hit a two-run triple in the seventh inning and added two singles for Hodgdon and Brianna McGary singled twice.
Angie Brewer had three singles with a RBI for the Panthers. Brittany Collins doubled and singled with two RBIs and Alicia Rideout hit two singles.

At Stacyville, Amber Smith’s two-run homer and Danielle Long’s double and single and two RBIs keyed a 10-run fifth inning that broke the game open.
Long finished with a double and two singles for the winners and Pam Spooner earned the win, scattering six hits with four strikeouts and five walks.
Shelley Martin’s three singles and Jessica Green’s two-run double paced Katahdin.

Christy Moon hit a solo homer in the sixth inning and a single for two RBIs for George Stevens Academy.
