Big School (Classes A-B)

DAN PETERSON

A senior on the Brewer High track team, Peterson set a meet record of 41.04 seconds for the 300 hurdles during the annual Phi Mu Delta Relay Carnival held at the University of Maine. Peterson also anchored the Witches’ victorious shuttle hurdle relay team.

Small School (Classes C-D)

TYLER THOMPSON

Thompson, a sophomore shortstop for the Lee Academy baseball team, went 9 for 12 at the plate with 11 RBIs in three games for the Pandas. Thompson went 5 for 5, hitting for the cycle, with 5 RBIs in a 13-3 victory over Katahdin.

GIRLS

Big School (Classes A-B)

LAURA STEIN

The Camden Hills senior advanced to the tennis state singles semifinals after dispatching three opponents in Tuesday’s Round of 40. She lost just one game in 37 and logged three straight-set victories. Stein has qualified for the finals all four years of high school competition.

Small School (Classes C-D)

AMBER SMITH

Smith, a senior right fielder for the Ashland softball team, batted .778 (14-for-18) in five games last week. She hit two doubles, two triples, two home runs, tallied 15 RBIs, scored 10 runs, and had five stolen bases for the Hornets, who are 11-2 and ranked second in Eastern Maine Class D.
