BANGOR – On May 25, during an Employee Recognition Program, 36 St. Joseph Healthcare employees were honored for a total of 425 years of combined service to the organization. Recognition is based on each five-year anniversary of dedication to St. Joseph Healthcare. The following employees were being recognized:

25 years: Helen Dunphy, medical unit; Linda McDonald, operating room; Janice Stearns, endoscopy.

20 years: Marie Kelsey, financial management; Ellen Lawlor, central registration; Dennis Mason, communications; Judith Wadlington, housekeeping.

15 years: Roxanne Birmingham, surgical-orthopedic unit; Mary Brown, CAM transcription; Billie-Jean Dumoulin, radiology; Cora Hamm, cardio-pulmonary care unit; Robin Hile, central registration; Peggy Kimball, laboratory; Michelle Markie, critical care unit; Jeanne-Ann Ouellette, surgical-orthopedic unit.

Emergency department director

BANGOR – Dr. Rodney Chelberg has been appointed medical director of the emergency department of St. Joseph Healthcare. Chelberg received a medical degree at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. Before coming to Maine in 2001 to work as an emergency physician, he practiced internal medicine and critical care for several years and served nine years as director of an urgent care unit.
