Machias edges Royals on timely Robbins hit

HARRINGTON – Sean Robbins knocked Chase Ross home on a single in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Machias a 2-1 baseball win over Jonesport-Beals Wednesday.

Isaiah Roberts hit a RBI triple to tie the game in the sixth inning for Machias. Chris Correll and James McCarthy each had two singles.

Derrick Beal had an RBI triple for Jonesport-Beals and Timmy Holmes hit three singles.

At Calais, Mike Cleary, Harry Austin, and Andy Brown each doubled to help lead Houlton past Calais.
