Bucksport High School

BUCKSPORT – Beth Thompson, daughter of Thomas and Barbara Thompson of Bucksport, has been named valedictorian for the Class of 2004. She will attend the University of Maine to study social studies secondary education.

She was co-president of the National Honor Society, vice-president of the math team and a Dirigo Girls State nominee, and received the principal’s award.

Thompson was manager of the wrestling team and participated in Students Against Drunk Driving.

Erica Guse, daughter of Gerald and Claire Guse of Orland, has been named salutatorian for the Class of 2004. She will attend the University of Maine to study biochemistry.

She was a member of the National Honor Society, president of the math team, band treasurer and a class officer. She attended engineering camp at the University of Maine, as well as Dirigo Girls State. She received the Bausch and Lomb Science Award and placed third in the Hancock-Waldo math league during her junior year.

Lindsay Robinson, daughter of Jeffrey and Laurie Robinson of Bucksport, has been named first honor essayist for the Class of 2004. She will attend St. Joseph’s College of Maine to study biology and pre-medicine.

She was involved in the Student Leadership Aspirations Program, Students Against Drunk Driving, senior executive council, National Honor Society, band, jazz band, and the Mr. Bucksport Committee. She held offices in several groups and organizations and was vice president of student council and vice president of the senior class. She was a delegate for Dirigo Girls State and was nominated to attend the National Leadership Forum on Medicine.

Robinson played junior varsity softball and track, and was the co-captain of the varsity cheerleading squad.

Teri Jordan, daughter of Larry and Elizabeth Jordan of Holden, has been named second honor essayist for the Class of 2004. She will attend the University of Southern Maine to study secondary mathematics education.

She has been class president for the past three years, the National Honor Society president, and senior representative for the Leadership Team.

Jordan is a member of the varsity softball team and through high school attended the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership seminar and Dirigo Girls State conference.
