Ponies’ Withee perfect in five

HAMPDEN – Josh Withee pitched a five-inning perfect game to lead the Foxcroft Academy Ponies to a 10-0 schoolboy baseball win over the Nokomis Warriors Thursday.

It was Withee’s second perfect game as he struck out eight.

It was the first of three games Nokomis played Thursday.

Matt Carey hit a triple, double, and a single to knock in a run for the Ponies and Withee had two doubles and a single with a RBI. Justin Freeman singled twice and Mike Freese hit a two-run double in the fifth inning to end the game.

At Hampden, Tyler Mackenzie and Josh Vile each had three singles and two RBIs to lead the Warriors of Newport to the win.

It was the second of three games Nokomis played Thursday.

Dylan Carroll notched two singles with an RBI for Nokomis and Keith Peavey added two singles.

Anthony Willette doubled and scored on a passed ball for the Vikes.

At Hampden, Keiichi Sugesawa had two singles to drive in four runs and help push Hampden Academy to the win.

Pat Moran hit two doubles to knock in two runs for Hampden. Chris Pease had two singles with two RBIs and Kevin Brooks doubled and singled with a RBI.

Josh Vile doubled and scored for Nokomis of Newport, which played its third game of the day.

At Thorndike, Taylor Helberg hit a solo home run in the fourth inning and singled to help lead Winslow to the win.

Ryan Lindie hit three singles for Winslow. Eric Lopez knocked a three-run double and Marty McCaslin added a double and Brian Mannke two singles with an RBI.

Steve Miles hit a double for Mount View and Willy Crieghton had a RBI single in the fourth.

At Corinth, Mike Julian hit an RBI double in the fourth inning to help push Central past Searsport.

Josh Underhill, Matt Julian, and Nick Lancisi each had an RBI single for the Red Devils.

Matt Nickerson doubled and singled to drive in a run for Searsport and Chris Ashey had two singles with a RBI.

At Milo, Spencer Garton spun a two-hit shutout with eight strikeouts and one walk as the Vikes prevailed.

Josh Nickerson hit two singles and a double to plate three runs for Searsport while Elijah Brazier singled twice and knocked in two.

At Milo, Pat Jamo allowed only two hits and one walk while striking out five and also hit a double and two singles to drive in three runs to help lead Schenck of East Millinocket to the victory.

Nick Bishop had three singles with three RBIs for Schenck and Jesse Cram singled twice with two RBIs.

Gerard Turgeon and Nick Emery each singled for Penquis.

At Howland, freshman Ryan Ware struck out five and aided his own cause with two singles to lead the Penobscot Valley Howlers over Wolverines.

Jake Crosby hit a go-ahead RBI double in the third and Matt Cummings added a single and RBI double for PVHS.

Nick Bishop had two singles and Shawn Landry had a double for Schenck of East Millinocket.

At Dexter, Chris Rabideau hit a three-run home run in the sixth to the end game and also doubled and singled with five RBIs to help lead Dexter.

Eric Day had a double and two singles with two RBIs for the Tigers. Tyler Poirier hit a RBI double and Kyle Stone had a run-scoring single.

Josh Lewellen hit a triple and two singles to knock in two runs for Piscataquis of Guilford and Andy Zimmerman hit a RBI single.

At Husson College in Bangor, Matt Joy hit a triple and drove in three runs to help lead Hermon to the win in their first game of the day.

Brian McGinley singled twice to drive in two runs for Hermon. Cory Archer had two singles with a RBI and Phil Cayford doubled.

Dylan Huckestein doubled and singled with three RBIs for Orono as Travis Dunton and Travis Bryant each hit a RBI single.

At Husson College in Bangor, Bill Bart gave up only two hits and one walk while striking out seven to earn the shutout win for Hermon in its second game of the day.

Brett Danforth singled and scored the first run on a passed ball in the second inning for Hermon and Cory Archer hit a RBI double in the sixth inning. Phil Cayford doubled and scored and Matt Joy also doubled.

Chris Levitt had two singles for John Bapst of Bangor.

At Hampden, Ashley Bragdon gave up just three runs on two hits and three walks while fanning 10 to help lead Nokomis past Caribou.

Aimee Paradis doubled three times to drive in four runs for Nokomis of Newport and Chris Pushor hit a double and two singles.

Christi Zbyluti and Heather Brissette each singled for Caribou.

At Hampden, Emily Thompson scored on a passed ball in the bottom of the 10th inning to lift the Broncos.

Erika Veinote and Kayla Wass combined to allow three hits and one walk while striking out 15. Jenna Shue and Myra Shannon each had two singles and Nellie Wood tripled.

Aimee Paradis doubled for the Warriors of Newport. Holly Bates and Delainie Farnham each singled.

At Mount Desert Island, Tara Dyer allowed just one run on two hits and no walks while fanning five to help push the Eagles past the Trojans.

Catie Cravens doubled and singled to drive in a run for Ellsworth. Maggie Seavey had two singles and Darci Fortier singled with two RBIs.

Nia Megquier hit an RBI double in the seventh inning and Becca Goff singled.

At Orono, Racheal Joyce hit two singles to drive in two runs and help the Red Riots edge the Hawks.

Orono’s Jessica Bates gave up just run on four hits and two walks while fanning four.

Cassie White hit a solo home run in the fourth inning for Hermon and Nicole Cepcro had two singles. Kristin Oakes struck out 11.

At Dexter, Nikki Chapman racked up four RBIs on two singles and two sacrifice flies as the Tigers rolled.

Cindy Koscielny hit two doubles and had three RBIs for Dexter. Sara Wyman singled twice and doubled. Sabrina Cote and Cristy McGowen each hit two singles and had two RBIs.

Amanda Keyte led the Pirates of Guilford with two singles and an RBI double.
