Narraguagus High School
HARRINGTON – Principal Peter Doak has announced the honor parts for the Class of 2004 at Narraguagus High School in Harrington. Graduation exercises will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 4, in the Charles F. Lawrence gymnasium.
Hanna Babiarz, daughter of Dennis and Alicia Babiarz of Cherryfield, has been named valedictorian for the Class of 2004. She will attend Mississippi State University to study pre-veterinary science.
She is vice president of the National Honor Society and drama club, adviser of the Spanish club, class treasurer, a member of Maine Youth Voices, math league, outdoor club, and varsity club. Among the many awards and honors that she has received are the HOBY Youth seminar ambassador, Maine Principals’ award recipient, Seven Sisters’ Book Award and the Herff Jones Principal’s Leadership Award.
Babiarz was voted as DAC All-Star in cheering. She participated in track and field and golf while at Narraguagus.
Melissa Barbee, daughter of Kevin and Pamela Barbee of Cherryfield, has been named salutatorian for the Class of 2004. She will attend Northeastern University of Massachusetts.
She is a youth leader in Maine Youth Voices, class vice president, a member of the math league, Spanish club, National Honor Society, outdoor club and varsity club.
Barbee was a Girls’ State representative and a winner in the Bangor Daily News Editorial Competition and the Washington County Writer’s Symposium. She was voted as DAC All-Star in basketball, soccer and softball.
