BROCKTON, Mass. – Mark Burke and Donnie Ross each homered to help lift the Bangor Lumberjacks to a 4-1 Northeast League win over the Brockton Rox Tuesday night.
Burke homered in the second and Ross hit one out in the ninth.
The Lumberjacks also scored a run in the fifth inning on a sacrifice fly and another run in the fifth when Jake Whitesides tripled home Jose Garcia.
Adam Thomas recorded the win for Bangor as Brockton was held scoreless until a Craig Lewis RBI single in the eighth.
Bangor completes its road trip with a game tonight at 7 against the Rox and then returns to Bangor for its home opener Thursday at 6:30 p.m. against New Jersey at the Winkin Complex at Husson College.
