BANGOR – Senior righthander Keith Nason allowed only three hits and one walk while striking out 16 to lead No. 6 John Bapst by No. 11 Mount View 5-0 in a schoolboy baseball prelim Tuesday night.

Chris Leavitt paced Bapst with three singles while Alex Means and Dan Leighton each added two singles. Means notched an RBI single in the fourth inning along with Hunter Umphrey.

Cliff Gardner singled twice for Mount View of Thorndike.

At Bucksport, Jason Hutchinson hit a two-run homer and two singles as the Eagles upset the Golden Bucks.

Jody Jose added two singles for No. 10 Erskine Academy of South China.

Joe Robicheau hit a three-run home run and an RBI single for No. 7 Bucksport.

At Ellsworth, Jake Lasselle pitched a six-hitter as No. 9 Maine Central Institute of Pittsfield advanced to an Eastern B quarterfinal at top-ranked Winslow on Thursday.

Lasselle also had three singles, two runs scored and two stolen bases. Marty Quint added three singles for MCI. Phil Hendricks doubled and singled and Victor Quint singled twice.

Cory Smith and Chase Buckingham each singled twice for No. 8 Ellsworth.

At East Machias, Corey Colbath singled twice and scored the winning run for the sixth-ranked Raiders.

Mark Fields hit an RBI double and James Ramsdell had an RBI single to drive home Washington Academy’s other runs. Steve Colbath allowed four hits and four walks while striking out 12 for the Raiders.

Kyle Stone singled and brought in two runs for the No. 11 Tigers.

Dylan Johnson had an RBI double and Jeff Burditt a triple for Sumner. Kyle Joy went the distance and struck out 16. Both Penobscot Valley runs were unearned.

Matt Cummings singled twice and knocked in a run while Joey Cyr singled and drove in a run wwith a bases-loaded walk for the ninth-ranked Howlers of Howland. Nick Ware added two singles.

The win advances the Owls to a quarterfinal Thursday at No. 4 Houlton.

Peter Gerard pitched a five-hitter for the Owls, while Mark Sirois doubled for the winners.

Scott Geel doubled and singled for Calais.

Justin Phinney chipped in with a double, single and three RBIs for the winners and Josh Frost doubled, singled and drove in a run. Anthony Cole and Eric Sobey had two singles each.

Matt Gagnon singled twice and drove in a run for Van Buren.
