BANGOR – Memorial Day was a day full of ceremonies honoring World War II and Vietnam veterans at the Cole Land Transportation Museum, and an important part of the activities was the music.

The Old Town High School jazz ensemble, directed by Jeff Priest, led off the day with patriotic music, delighting veterans, families and friends alike.

Performing during the World War II commemoration was the Washington County Children’s Chorus, which will go to Luxembourg this summer.

The youngsters, directed by Christine Guy, also sang “God Bless America.”

Closing the ceremonies, Old Town trumpeters Adam Avery and Amy McFalls played taps, and the jazz ensemble followed with more patriotic music.
