Ashland Community High School
ASHLAND – The guidance department at Ashland Community High School has announced the honor parts for the Class of 2004. Commencement exercises will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, June 4, in the Bobby Goding Memorial Gymnasium.
Spencer Alden Perry, son of Janet and Stanley Perry, has been named valedictorian for the Class of 2004. He will attend the University of Maine to study wood science and technology.
He has participated in Model State Legislature, Future Farmers of America, has been a class officer, member of National Honor Society and an Eagle Scout. He has participated in soccer, basketball and baseball throughout high school.
Perry was the recipient of both the Bausch and Lomb Award and the Maine Principals’ Award.
Brock Arthur Bessey, son of Heather and Arthur Bessey, has been named salutatorian for the Class of 2004. He will attend the University of Maine to study civil engineering.
He has been a member of National Honor Society, Future Farmers of America, attended Model State Legislature and is an Eagle Scout. He has lettered in soccer, basketball and golf.
Daren Scott Hunter, son of Elaine and Terry Hunter, has been named first honor essayist. He will attend New England School of Communications to study audio engineering.
He is president of National Honor Society, a D.A.R.E. role model, a member of Boy Scouts of America, attended Model State Legislature and participated in Youth Ministry. He has lettered in golf, basketball and baseball.
Benjamin A. MacDonald, son of Karen and Gene MacDonald, has been named second honor essayist. He will attend Northern Maine Community College to study accounting.
He is president of student council, a member of National Honor Society and teaches Sunday school at his church.
