Maine bishop to ordain deacons in Portland

PORTLAND – Bishop Richard Malone on Sunday will ordain transitional and permanent deacons for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland, which comprises the entire state.

The service will be at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Portland at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 6.

Kent Roy Ouellette, 46, son of the late Adelord Denis and Julienne Hedwidge (Jandreau) Ouellette, will be ordained a transitional deacon, after which he will continue to study toward the priesthood.

His family’s home parish is St. Charles Borromeo Parish, St. Francis.

Among those to be ordained as permanent deacons for ministry are:

. Albert A. Burleigh, 52, son of the late Lawrence E. and the late Mary (Carroll) Burleigh. Burleigh and his wife, Sonja, have three sons. Their home parish is St. Mary of the Visitation in Houlton.

. Donald R. Clavette, 60, son of the late Donat A. and the late Almida (Daigle) Clavette. Clavette and his wife, Ann Marie (Deschenes) Clavette, have three sons and a daughter. Their home parish is St. Thomas Aquinas, Madawaska.

. Robert E. Cleveland Jr. 51, son of Robert E. and the late Jean Cleveland. Cleveland and his wife, Anne, have a son and two daughters. Their home parish is Our Lady of Good Hope, Camden.

. Frank J. Semancik, 67, son of the late Frank Paul and the late Ann (Zales) Semancik. Semancik and his wife, Virginia C. Semancik, have three sons. Their home parish is St. Bernard’s, Rockland.
