AUGUSTA – Gov. John Baldacci on Monday ordered that U.S. and Maine state flags be flown at half-staff for 30 days in honor of the late former President Ronald Reagan.

“The people of Maine join the nation in mourning former President Ronald Reagan,” Baldacci said in a prepared statement. “We appreciate his dedication to family and country, and his leadership that hastened the end of the Cold War. He showed grace throughout his political career and in his later years battling Alzheimer’s.”
