Carman ‘cycle’ keys Montville

MONTVILLE – Chris Carman hit for the cycle, knocking in five runs and scoring three to lead Montville to a 20-1 victory over Belfast on Sunday in a mutual Bay League season opener.

Devin Potvin singled twice and doubled to drive in another five runs. Gerald Hewes had four singles and two RBIs for Montville. Ben Relyea, Nate Hall, Greg Phair and George Tripp each singled twice.

Jeff Ashey and Bob Withee singled for Belfast, while Tony Bagley had the lone RBI.

At Husson College in Bangor, Bill Chapman and Pat Healey both tripled for two RBIs each.

Justin Perry doubled, bringing in one run. Mark Farnham had a single and an RBI for Aerus.

Pete Saunders singled three times driving in two runs. Matt Deraspe had a single and two RBIs while Bill Barker had an RBI single for the Bear Brew Pub.
