HALLOWELL – Divers recovered the body of a 24-year-old man from an abandoned quarry on Saturday.

Gregory Peaslee’s body was recovered by state Warden Service divers. Kennebec County Sheriff’s Department divers also were sent to the scene.

The Hallowell man was reported missing Saturday afternoon by Motivational Services Inc. after Peaslee missed an appointment to take prescribed medication a day earlier, Kevin Anderson of the Maine Warden Service said.

Hallowell police said a car fitting the description of Peaslee’s had been parked near the quarry in Hallowell. Peaslee had a history of psychiatric illness.
