HOPE – A routine traffic stop Saturday led to the recovery of a large quantity of marijuana, cash and firearms and resulted in the arrest of three individuals.
After the search of the vehicle and a nearby home, Knox County Sheriff’s deputies and Maine State Police arrested Kevin R. Stockbridge, 44, of Hope, Tiffany Anderson, 25, of Bangor and Robert Watts, 40, of Bangor.
Stockbridge was charged with aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs and trafficking in scheduled drugs. He was released on $6,000 unsecured bail.
Watts was charged with aggravated possession of marijuana. He was released on $700 unsecured bail.
Anderson was charged with aggravated possession of marijuana and operating without a license.
Deputies Michael Sprague and Matthew Barnett stopped Anderson and Watts and seized nearly 5 ounces of marijuana from the vehicle. The stop provided deputies with enough information to obtain a search warrant for Stockbridge’s home.
When deputies and state police searched the residence they found nearly 7 pounds of marijuana, $23,000 in cash, 15 firearms, narcotic prescription medications and illegal fireworks.
The seized drugs had a street value of $25,000. Deputy Sprague’s canine Spike assisted in finding the drugs in both locations. Police said the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are likely.
