PRESQUE ISLE – Nine community leaders from Aroostook County will be added to the University of Maine at Presque Isle’s board of visitors during its annual meeting today.The new members are Nick Bayne, president and CEO of Maine Public Service Co.; Cindy Hebert, city councilor and former mayor of Caribou; Richard Kneeland, retired potato farmer and current state senator; Donna Lisnik, principal of Easton High School; Philip J. Lowe, branch manager for MBNA in Presque Isle; Lois Pangburn, principal of Teague Park Elementary in Caribou; Jon Prescott, president and CEO of Katahdin Trust Co.; Max Saengar, chief operating officer of the Maine Winter Sports Center; and Tom Umphrey, senior vice president of human resources at The Aroostook Medical Center.

The board of visitors was established in 1997 through a legislative bill that called for the creation of advisory boards for each of the University of Maine System’s seven universities.
