A Holden man allegedly assaulted a woman driving a Good Humor ice cream truck Wednesday afternoon while telling her to turn off her music and leave his trailer park.

Holden police Sgt. Eugene Fizell said that at about 2:45 p.m. the woman called police, saying she was driving through the Pine Cone Trailer Park when an “older gentleman” approached her and ordered her to leave the park.

After a discussion with the man concerning her right to be in the trailer park, the woman said she decided to leave. However, while she was driving out of the trailer park, the man started hitting her truck, ordering her to turn off her music, and hit her on the arm twice.

The woman called police after she was out of the park. She did not suffer any serious injury, Fizell said. The incident is still under investigation.

Fizell said the complainant in this case is not the same ice cream truck driver who allegedly falsified a report of robbery in Orrington earlier this month.

A Brewer man was summoned after he allegedly kicked a passer-by in the groin Tuesday night.

Brewer police Officer Tony Pinette reported that at about 9:40 p.m. he went to a Chamberlain Street address for a report of a fight in progress. A man there said he was walking by the home of Daniel Cunningham, 46, when Cunningham approached him yelling and calling him names.

The man said Cunningham kicked him twice in the groin. Pinette said there had been trouble between the two men for some time. Pinette spoke with witnesses, who supported the complaint. Cunningham told Pinette that he thought the complainant had banged on his door and admitted to kicking “at” him, but not to actually kicking him.

Cunningham was charged with assault.

Orono police arrested a Bradford woman after she allegedly slapped her boyfriend Tuesday evening.

Sgt. Scott Scripture said that he and Sgt. Gary Duquette went to a Stillwater Avenue address at about 7:30 p.m. Duquette spoke with a woman whom they saw leaving the scene and yelling at others at the house as they arrived. She was identified as Janet Maset, 42, of Bradford.

Scripture said the owners of the house had called police after Maset came looking for her boyfriend, who was working outside. An argument ensued when she arrived, and she slapped her boyfriend on the arms six or seven times, according to witnesses.

Scripture said the boyfriend did have a scratch, probably from Maset’s fingernail.

Scripture said Maset accused her boyfriend of starting the physical confrontation, but the others agreed that she had started it and that he had merely pushed her away in response to the slapping.

Maset was arrested and charged with assault.
