PORTLAND – Portland Sea Dogs pitcher Juan Perez was selected to play in the New York Mercantile Exchange All-Star Game in Houston, Texas, on July 11.

The All-Star Game, which will be broadcast live on ESPN2 at 3 p.m., features the top prospects in minor league baseball, with a team of U.S.-born players competing against players from around the world. Perez is the lone representative from the Boston Red Sox, and he will play on the World team.

In 22 relief appearances for the Sea Dogs, Perez has a 2-0 record with three saves and a 1.78 earned run average. He has 35 strikeouts through 35 1/3 innings pitched.
