Deerfield Farm, owned by Paul and Linda Cole in Winterport, placed fourth statewide in the Oakhurst Dairy Quality Producer Awards recently. The awards were given in recognition of outstanding milk quality, according to Oakhurst president Stanley T. Bennett II.

Also recognized for excellence was Velgouse Farm, owned by the Velgouse family of Kenduskeag.

Among farms recognized for most closely meeting their predicted output for 2003 were Deerfield Farm, and Hill and Dale Farm, owned by the Ward family of Winterport.
