Lavway helps Presque Isle win

SEARSPORT – Jamie Potvin led Waldo with a solo home run en route to a 6-0 win over Presque Isle in the first game of an American Legion baseball doubleheader Thursday.

Chris Lavway singled three times, doubled and drove in two runs to lead Presque Isle by Waldo 14-7 in the second game.

In the first game, Kenton Spaulding and James Cummons each had a single for Waldo. Kyle Larrabee and Jordan Hill had two doubles apiece for Presque Isle.

In the second game, Chris Parsons had a home run and a double while Tim Layford singled and doubled for Presque Isle. For Waldo, Mike Cummons doubled and singled, driving in two runs. Ken Spaulding homered and Nick Arthurs added two singles.

At Millinocket, Jason Murchison slammed a three-run homer en route to Lincoln’s third victory.

Jeremy Ham doubled twice, singled and drove in a run for the winners. Matt Wark added two singles, a double and an RBI.

Mark Clapp doubled and singled while Harrison Hines had two singles for Trenton.

Bangor 13, Orono 5

At Old Town, Phil Cayford hit a solo home run to help Bangor defeat Orono.

Alex Means singled and doubled in the victory. Nate Hall chipped in with a double and Scott Hackett had two singles.

Ryan Levesque started Orono off with a grand slam in the first. Jarrett Lukas added two doubles and a single and Mike Tardiff singled twice.
