Waldo County defeats Belfast 6-2

ROCKLAND – Brad Hersey pitched a three-hitter and struck out 13 batters to lead Waldo County by Belfast 6-2 Saturday in District 2 Little League baseball all-star action for ages 11-12.

Brad Dolan had a double and a single while Justin Rodgerson added two singles. Tyler Rednour hit a triple for Waldo.

Derrick Bernoski singled twice and Adam Whittier doubled for Belfast.

Orono 26, Orrington 16

At Glenburn Sunday, Chloe Douglas and Jillian Woodward combined to pitch a no-hitter, and Douglas also hit three singles in Orono’s big win.

Kayla Marquis also had three singles for Orono.

Glenburn 19, Lincoln 9

At Glenburn Sunday, Lauren McLaughlin hit a triple and a double while also helping to pitch Glenburn to the win.

Jessica Bradford singled twice for Glenburn.

Harley Maxwell had a triple and a single for Glenburn.

Old Town 11, Hermon 1

At Glenburn, Ashley England pitched a four-hitter to help lead Old Town past Hermon Sunday.

Breanna Shirland led Old Town’s offense with a double.

Ashley Thayer paced Hermon with a triple and a single.
