Derry Hammond

Bangor Lumberjack Derry Hammond was picked by SportsTicker as the Northeast League’s Batter of the Week. Hammond went 8-for-21 over six games for a .381 batting average. Five of those eight hits cleared the fence resulting in him recording a slugging percentage of 1.190. In addition, he drove in 10 runs, scored six times and stole a base. Originally a third round selection of the Milwaukee Brewers during the 1998 draft, Hammond is in his seventh season of professional ball, but his first in the Northeast League.
