Two juveniles in court on terrorizing charges

CALAIS – Two juveniles, who had been charged earlier this year in connection with a bomb threat made at Calais High School appeared in 4th District Court Tuesday.

Michael Drake, 15, and Jesse Robinson, 14, have been charged with terrorizing. Both entered denials to the charge.

A hearing has been set for 9 a.m. July 27.

In April, nearly 300 students and staffers were sent home after a note was found. It indicated there was a bomb in the high school. The note was taped to a door in the high school. School officials notified police, and a Maine State Police bomb-sniffing dog was called in. Classes resumed the next day.

Drake also was in court for a probation violation. Two years ago, he admitted to having unlawful sexual contact with another juvenile who had not yet attained the age of 14.

Drake admitted to the offense and was placed on two years probation.

Four years ago, three students were charged with terrorizing in connection with bomb threats they made at the school. That year, there were 13 bomb scares.
