BANGOR – Bangor police conducted a temporary roadblock Wednesday night on State Street just before the intersection with Exchange Street affecting drivers heading east.

The roadblock consisted of six police vehicles and approximately six officers directing traffic and checking for drunken drivers.

The Bangor Police Department occasionally sets up roadblocks to stop drunken drivers, a spokesman said Wednesday. The roadblocks usually are done before holidays.
