PORTLAND – Four members of the Portland Sea Dogs have been named to the 2004 Eastern League Northern Division All-Star Team.
Pitcher Abe Alvarez, catcher-outfielder Jeff Bailey, shortstop Kenny Perez and outfielder Brett Roneberg will represent the Boston Red Sox Class AA affiliate in the EL all-star game, to be held on Wednesday, July 14, at Bowie, Md.
The EL all-star teams were chosen through fan balloting along with selections from media personnel, club field personnel and EL administrators. Each of the league’s 12 teams has at least three players on either the Northern or Southern division squad. The host Bowie Baysox have the most all-stars, six.
