BANGOR – Nominations are being accepted for the fourth annual 2 Those Who Care Awards, a celebration of outstanding volunteers in the community.

Awards are to be presented at a gala ceremony Wednesday, Sept. 29, at the G. Peirce Webber Campus Center at Husson College. The event will be televised in October as a primetime special on WLBZ 2.

In addition to the 2 Those Who Care Award winners, one individual will be presented with the John W. Coombs Award, a volunteer recognition award of the United Way of Eastern Maine since 1984.

An outstanding nonprofit organization will be honored with the Agency of Distinction Award.

In addition to television recognition, winners will receive a cash donation to the charity of their choice. The Agency of Distinction will receive a cash donation.

Nomination forms are available by calling WLBZ 2 at (800) 244-6306, or the United Way of Eastern Maine at 941-2800; or by stopping by Merrill Bank or Webber Energy Fuels locations. Forms also are available on the Web at WLBZ2.com. The deadline for nomination is July 12.
