Orono-Veazie, Bangor teams post wins in 9-10

MILLINOCKET – Orono-Veazie defeated Glenburn-Levant 10-3, Bangor East stopped Hermon 4-1 and Bangor West edged Katahdin 8-7 in Little League baseball all-star action for ages 9-10 Monday.

Orono-Veazie 10, Glen.-Levant 3

Nick Cota singled twice and struck out nine to help lead Orono-Veazie past Glenburn-Levant.

Josh Storgaard hit two singles for Orono-Veazie. Tyler Eddy and Christian Corneil each hit a RBI single.

Nick Sherwood had two singles for Glenburn-Levant.

Bangor East 4, Hermon 1

Chris Howat gave up just one run on three hits and four walks while striking out 15 to help lead Bangor East past Hermon.

Howat also hit an RBI single for Bangor East. Connor Griffin and John Szewczyk each hit two singles.

Kevin Frederick struck out 11 and had two singles for Hermon. Tyler Fournier doubled.

Bangor West 8, Katahdin 7

Bobby Winchell scored the game-winning run for Bangor West in the bottom of the sixth inning on a wild pitch.

Josiah Hartley hit a triple and struck out 10 for Bangor West and Wyatt Frost hit a RBI single.

Brady McNally and Spencer Anderson each doubled for Katahdin.

At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor, Jordan Clarke’s three-run triple in the first inning sparked the offense and Kyle Gallant went on to strike out 15 while scattering six hits to help Bangor prevail.

Ian Edwards homered, singled and drove in three runs to pace the winners. Christian LaRochelle chipped in with four singles and Shane Walton had a double, single and RBI. Kyle Gallant added two singles and two RBIs.

Nick Smith tripled, singled twice and drove in three runs for Holbrook. Tom Jackson added a double, single and two RBIs.

Glenburn 11, Hampden 1

At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor, Denik Helms rapped three singles and knocked in five runs as Glenburn ended the game with one out in the bottom of the sixth.

John Doughty added two singles and an RBI.

Nolan Turner hit a double for Hampden, and Tyler Miles had a single and an RBI.

At Bucksport, Casey Hull singled twice and drove in a run to help Coastal of Blue Hill defeat Bucksport.

Josh Astbury chipped in with two singles for the winners.

Lucas Marks hit a two-run, inside-the-park home run for Bucksport. Cam Wadleigh added three singles and Eddy Robbins doubled.

At Blue Hill, Sam Sheehan slammed a two-run homer to highlight a five-run second inning that broke open the game, which was called after 31/2 innings.

Sheehan also had a double and single with four RBIs.

Tylor Corriveau, Charlie Pal, and Fred Lebel each posted a pair of singles, and Ross Saunders added a double and three RBIs.

Michael Crowley singled for Sunrise of Milbridge.

At Bucksport, Brad Folmer hit a triple and two doubles to help lead Ellsworth to the win.

Mike Bridges had a two-run home run for Bucksport and Tim Cluney doubled and singled. Cody Davis and Zach Hall each hit two singles.

At Machias, Mike Lenfestny hit two singles to drive in two runs and help lead Machias past Acadian.

Noah Von Rotz had two singles with a RBI and Matt Little doubled to knock in a run. Ty Richards and Bryce Colbeth each had two singles.

Dylan Pessatore tripled for Acadian and Peter Logue doubled.

Jacob Scoville tripled, doubled, and singled with four RBIs for Machias and Mike Padilla hit two doubles and a single with an RBI.

Heath Thompson had a double and a single with two runs scored for Calais and Devin Staples hit a RBI single.

At Machias, Cote Card hit a two-run double in the third inning to help lead Ellsworth.

Toby Woods hit a double and single for Machias and Tyler Prout and Aaron Hoffman each singled.

At Calais, Hillary Hollingdale hit two doubles to drive in two runs for Calais.

Haley Merchant and Maria Lockhart each hit a two-run single for Sunrise of Milbridge.
