Operating room director
BANGOR – Nurse Sally Patterson of Brewer has joined St. Joseph Healthcare as director of perioperative services. She will be responsible for the general supervision of the operating room, oversee the department’s budget and ensure that the technology and equipment needs of physicians are met. She also will ensure that surgical patients receive high quality care.
Patterson holds a bachelor’s degree from Husson College and has more than 27 years of experience in nursing. She worked for several years at Eastern Maine Medical Center in various areas of the operating room, including, most recently, in EMMC’s Level 7 recovery room. She also worked as a certified diabetes educator at the Eastern Maine Diabetes and Nutrition Center.
ALS Support Group
Jan Carleton, speech pathologist at the Maine Rehabilitation Center, will be the guest speaker at the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Support Group, 1-3 p.m. Thursday, July 15, at OHI, 25 Freedom Parkway, Hermon.
