Lyshon double lifts Bangor East to victory

BANGOR – Devin Lyshon stroked a two-out RBI double to score Lonnie Hackett, who singled earlier in the inning, as Bangor East eliminated Katahdin with a 2-1 victory in the ages 11-12 division of the District 3 Little League baseball all-star tournament in a game held at Taylor Field.

Lyshon added another double and Nate Lewis a single for Bangor East. Lewis also pitched a five-hitter with 12 strikeouts.

Ethan Qualey knocked an RBI double for Katahdin. Evan McCarthy fanned 15 in six innings of work.

Brewer 5, Millinocket 1

At Millinocket, righthander Eric White fired a 16-strikeout three-hitter and helped his own cause with two triples and two runs scored as Brewer triumphed.

White, who walked three, triggered a three-run third inning with a triple. He tripled and scored on a passed ball in the fourth.

Nick Risser had two singles for Brewer while Millinocket received a triple and a single from Garen Manzo and a triple from Jared McGreevy.

At Bangor, Ethan White tripled and singled as well as slamming a home run in the third inning to lead Lincoln.

Lance Bernier fired a three-hitter and helped his cause with a triple and a single. Ivan Voisine doubled twice and singled. Travis Langerin added a double.

Sam Patterson doubled for Bangor West.

At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor, Tyler White doubled twice and singled once, driving in three runs as Lincoln breezed past Brewer.

Ben Perry had three singles, along with three RBIs. Adam Laird singled twice and brought in two runs.

Mike Kotredes of Brewer tripled, doubled, singled with two RBIs. Sean Murphy had an RBI single.

At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor, Max Winter singled twice and doubled with an RBI as Orono-Veazie took the win.

Aaron Healy doubled, singled and had two RBIs. Colin Bates and Chase Huckestein each had two singles and an RBI.

Adam Fournier led Old Town with a triple, a single and three RBIs. Evan Paradis doubled, singled and drove in two runs. Matt Jones singled with two RBIs and Cory Grenier singled twice.

At Bucksport, Tyler McAllian singled twice as Bucksport gained its third victory.

Andrew Giosia struck out 12 batters and tripled. Billy Deredin and Dave Fucillo each had a double.

Ben Curtis doubled twice and Thomas Sawyer doubled for Ellsworth.

At Blue Hill, Charlie Pal struck out a batter with two runners on in the sixth inning as Coastal held on to beat Machias.

Ross Saunders doubled, singled and scattered five hits over 5 2/3 innings for the winners. Sam Sheehan hit an RBI double.

Matt Smith belted a three-run home run for Machias and Bryce Colbeth doubled twice.

At Machias, Jesse Dow singled twice to drive in three runs and pace Coastal’s victory.

Jared Reed singled twice with two RBIs. Tim Sawyer had a single with two RBIs and Joe Brown had a single and an RBI.

Jacob Scoville singed twice and had two RBIs for Machias.

At Northeast Harbor, Steve Ensworth laced a two-run double to help lead Coastal to victory.

Ross Bowden and Nick Saunders each had RBI doubles for the winners. Josh Astbury pitched a two-hitter with 12 strikeouts and added two singles with an RBI.

Danny Dunn had an RBI single and Joe Swanson a single for Acadian.

At Bucksport, Steven Klenowski led his team with three singles.
