BANGOR – Three-year-old Raven Hatch of Clifton, a victim in a June 22 automobile accident on U.S. Route 1A in Ellsworth, was released from Eastern Maine Medical Center on Friday.
Raven, her sister, Ashlynn Hatch, 2, and their mother, April Hatch, 25, were critically injured when the car April Hatch was driving was involved in a head-on collision with a tractor-trailer.
Raven Hatch received a mild head injury and several broken bones, according to previous reports.
Ashlynn Hatch died the day after the collision. Doctors said her healthy heart, liver and kidneys have been transplanted to needy recipients.
April Hatch was in “good” condition Friday, according to EMMC officials.
Police officials have previously speculated that April Hatch might have fallen asleep at the wheel after working an all-night shift at the Hancock County Jail in Ellsworth. The accident occurred after Hatch had been picked up from work by her husband, Stewart Hatch. April Hatch and the girls had then dropped Stewart Hatch off at his job in Trenton before the accident occurred, according to police.
