Bangor rolls to win over Glenburn

BANGOR – Ian Edwards rapped two doubles and a single and collected five RBIs to power Bangor to an 18-2 District 3 Junior League (ages 13-14) Baseball Tournament victory over Glenburn at Mansfield Stadium on Friday.

Edwards also held Glenburn to two hits and recorded six strikeouts and six walks.

Shane Walton added a triple, two singles, and two RBIs, and Christian Dionne added a single and two RBIs.

Jon Gagnon led Glenburn with an RBI single, and Tim Kennerson also had a single.

Hampden 11, Orono-Veazie 4

At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor, Hampden jumped out to a 7-0 lead and cruised in for the win.

Patrick Stephens hit three singles for Hampden, and Nolan Turner added a single and three RBIs.

Max Winter led Orono-Veazie with two doubles and two RBIs, and Pat McAleer contributed three singles.

Bucksport 13, Acadia 3

At Bucksport, Lucas Marks and Stephen Klenowski each singled three times and combined for five RBIs to spark Bucksport.

Marks knocked in three and scored three, Klenowski knocked in two, and Dylan Dedman added a double. Cam Wadleigh allowed only two hits.

Justin Gilmartin and Luke Hartson each rapped a single for Acadia of Bar Harbor.

At Millinocket, Shawn Curran rapped a triple and two singles to help Holbrook eliminate Millinocket.

Adam Cossette singled twice to back winner Jacob Chapman, who struck out nine.

Jordan Morrow paced Millinocket with two singles, while Brian Plourde and Jared Albert stroked doubles.

Katahdin 12, Lincoln 11

At Millinocket Thursday, Jesse McNally hit a run-scoring triple to back Katahdin and winning pitcher Spencer Anderson.

Jacob Lassonde, Brandon Landry, and J.J. Conary each added an RBI single for Katahdin.

Ryan O’Hara stroked a three-run double and Dakotah Jordan hit an RBI single for Lincoln, which was eliminated.

Hampden 4, Old Town 3

At Hampden, Lacey Littlefield reached on an error and scored on a groundout by Mikki Libbey in the sixth inning to give the hosts the margin of victory.

Littlefield pitched a three-hitter, striking out 13 and walking three, to pace Hampden. Kasey Belcher singled twice with an RBI, while Amanda Palmer and Eva Simmons hit run-scoring singles.

Ashley Goodwin singled twice with an RBI for Old Town.
