Catholic bishop makes priest reassignments

PORTLAND – Maine’s Roman Catholic bishop has announced more reassignments or additional duties for priests from around the state. In most cases, the changes were effective July 1.

The Rev. Louis Phillips, administrator of St. Joseph’s Parish, Ellsworth, will become pastor of St. Augustine and St. Andrew parishes, Augusta.

The Rev. Ralph Boisvert, parochial vicar, Parish of the Holy Spirit, Waterville, will be parochial vicar, St. Augustine and St. Andrew parishes, Augusta.

The Rev. Paul Dumais is being given his first assignment as parochial vicar, Parish of the Holy Spirit, Waterville, and St. John the Baptist Parish, Winslow.

The Rev. Daniel Greenleaf will become temporary administrator, St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Belfast.

The Rev. Roland Nadeau, chaplain, Mercy Hospital, Portland, will be chaplain, St. Joseph Hospital, Bangor.

The Rev. John Austin, St. John’s Parish, Bangor, has been appointed chaplain, Eastern Maine Medical Center, Bangor, and parochial vicar, St. John’s Parish.

The Rev. Frank Murray, pastor, Auburn Catholic community and director of vocations, has been appointed director of seminarians.

The Portland diocese has previously announced other reassignments, and more could be made.
