ROCKLAND – Sgt. Dan Brown of the Rockland Police Department escaped serious injury Saturday when the patrol motorcycle he was driving fell on South Main Street.
Sgt. Jeffrey McLaughlin said Brown was turning from Myrtle Street onto South Main Street at about 5:45 p.m. when a car in front of him stopped suddenly to allow a pedestrian to cross the street. Brown braked, and the front wheel of the motorcycle locked up. The motorcycle slid onto the ground and Brown fell to the road, injuring his knee.
He was treated at Penobscot Bay Medical Center in Rockport and released. Damage to the motorcycle was minimal.
