NEW ORLEANS – The Maine Icebreakers, a 16-and-under boys basketball team, beat the Ohio Icebreakers 67-62 Monday, improving to 1-1 in pool play.

Jay Uhrin of Winterport led the winners with 18 points, Greg Whittaker of Presque Isle notched 13, Andrew York of Mars Hill 12, and Daniel McCue of Hampden 11.

The team plays its final pool-play game Tuesday at 6 p.m. and needs a win to get into the championship round.
