Late rally lifts Bangor West past Brewer

MILLINOCKET – Bangor West scored twice in the bottom of the sixth Wednesday to rally for a 5-4 victory over Brewer in an elimination contest of the District 3 baseball 9-10 tournament.

Carl Farnham scored the winning run and hit a double and a single, while Josiah Hartley also doubled and singled in support of winning pitcher Cody Savage.

Tyler White and Spencer Balley each singled twice for Brewer.

Hermon 10, Old Town 0

At Millinocket, Nick Moore doubled and singled twice as Hermon eliminated Old Town.

William Perkins added a double and a single for the winners, while Kevin Frederick and Tyler Fournier each singled twice.

Gave Melmed singled twice for Old Town.

Waldo County 9, Rockland 2

At Rockland, Adam Higgins broke the game open in the top of the fifth when he singled to drive home three runs.

Higgins followed an inning later with a bases-loaded triple.

Chris Montminy and Logan Poirier each had an RBI single for Waldo County.

Adam Hadley of Rockland hit an RBI single.

Coastal 9, Acadians 6

At Blue Hill, Ross Saunders hit a bases loaded triple in the top of the fifth as Coastal won the District 1 championship.

Fred Lebel doubled home two runs in the second with a double.

Taylor Stewart singled home two runs and Devon Young also singled for the Acadians.

Bucksport 10, Coastal 8

At Bucksport, Ryan Bailey singled three times as Bucksport slid past Coastal.

Cody Miller added two singles. Will St. Peter had a triple and Brent Chaffee had a triple.

From Coastal, Tim Sawyer and Roshad Frazier each contributed a home run.

At Bangor, Josh Turcotte slammed a home run and later scored the winning run to break a 4-4 tie and give Bangor East the victory.

Nate Lewis and Luke Hetterman both had RBI doubles. Will Johnson and Ryan King also doubled.

Eric White hit a pair of two-run home runs.

Bucksport 18, Ellsworth 2

At Bucksport, right-hander Eddie Robbins scattered four hits over five innings and Lucas Marks had an inside-the-park homer and a single as Bucksport eliminated Ellsworth.

Bucksport, 3-1, will travel to Blue Hill to face unbeaten Coastal at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

Robbins struck out seven and walked four and helped his own cause with a double and a single.

C.J. Roskum doubled for the winners.

Eric Folmer, Jason Sprague, Patrick Kelley and Tyler Salisbury singled for Ellsworth.

At Old Town, Miria Cassum doubled twice and singled as Bangor remained undefeated.

Steph Comstock added a triple and a single, while Jerri Cosgrove singled twice.

Brittany Libbey, Jessica Fortin, Elisha Lyons and Morgan Pelkey each singled for Lincoln.

Calais 14, Ellsworth 7

At Calais, Tessa Clark singled twice as Calais topped Ellsworth to win the District 1 tournament.

Ashley Melhiser tripled for the winners, while Nicole Osborn and Brianna Black each had an RBI single.

Ashley Smith singled twice and tripled for Ellsworth.
